Alpha Course

Lake Street will be running their next Alpha course from Thursday 16th September through to Thursday 2nd December. Alpha offers an introduction to some of the basics of the Christian faith. The evening begins at 7pm with a meal – followed by the main talk. There is then the opportunity to talk together in groups. It is all very informal and an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed and non-threatening way. Rainbows

Jungle Jamboree Holiday Club

Plans are well under way for this year's Holiday Club which will take place from 9th - 15th August. The programme includes something for everyone: activities for children and young people, family picnic, games, crafts, treasure hunt and barbecue, trip to West Midlands Safari Park and ending with a Family Celebration Service. Family activities aren't limited to those who have children involved - we'd love to see you all coming to share in the Picnic in the Park, Crafts afternoon and/or Barbecue and Treasure Hunt - further details are available on posters and flyers in each church. There's no obligation to join in games or crafts - why not just come along and meet others, have a chat, a cuppa or just enjoy meeting together. Events are based at Zoar as it's location in the centre of the village makes it convenient for many. However this is a joint initiative and anyone who is interested in helping would be most welcome. Even if you could only offer 2 hours during the week it would be most valuable. More than 50 children have already booked for the morning sessions and we still have to give out leaflets in schools - it promises to be a very worthwhile outreach event and we look forward to seeing you during the week.

OASIS

Oasis is the name of the new drop in centre that will take place at Zoar Methodist Church in Gornal village. It will be open weekly from 2-4pm All are welcome to call in for a cuppa and a piece of cake!

XLR8 . . .

XLR8 is an exciting monthly group for children aged 7 - 11 years. Meeting at Zoar Methodist Church from 10.00am - 12.00noon on the first Saturday of each month, the programme includes games, competitions, songs with live band, discussions, exploring the bible, quizzes and crafts. It's a morning of fun, activity and prizes. Entry is free so iIf you're in school years 3 - 6 why not come along and find out more = we'd really love to see you. Next group meets at the end of half term week - Saturday 5th June when we'll be looking at "How do we know the bible is true?".
